Lions fade to Brumbies
The Lions threw away a good opportunity to get their second win in the Super 14. Loffie Eloff's side led 21-13 at one stage, but eventually went down 28-21 to the Brumbies in Canberra. Like so many times this season, the Gauteng side faded away late in the second half.
Earl Rose scored 16 points, including 2 tries. The Lions' other try came from Cobus Grobbelaar. Brumbies skipper, Stirling Mortlock scored 13 points, including a try. Mark Gerrard scored a try, a penalty and a conversion, while Christian Lealiifano scored the third try.
